Windows Phone Mango Release Date

The update will be available for download in couple of days, after reaching the final stage of development.

Windows Phone users now don’t need to wait much to upgrade their existing mobile operating system. Microsoft has just announced that the next version of Windows Phone OS, Mango, will be available as an upgrade over the next couple of days.

WP 7.5 has been in the final stages of development since 26th of July. Recently, an official blog post from Microsoft has confirmed that soon user can update their devices, recommending the consumers “to avoid unofficial copies of the ROMs for Windows Phone”.

From the official website, the company has confirmed that each manufacturer will launch its own specific update, suggesting use of the versions designed for each brand. Along with the renewal of the operating system, users can also get new versions of Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac and the latest version for Zune too. In order to install the update on your Windows Phone, user need to download a new version of Microsoft’s Zune software.

Expected release dates by Brands:

  • AT&T Windows Phones will get update on September 27th.
  • The HTC Surround, LG Quantum, and Samsung Focus (version 1.3) will be the first to get the update, with the HTC HD7S to come next in mid-October.
  • The Samsung Focus (version 1.4) will get the update on October 31st.
