Altec Lansing announces Custom Made “In-Ear” Monitors

Yesterday, Altec Lansing announced the availability of new series of hand-crafted, armature-based fully customizable in-ear Monitors, the A1, A2 and A3 models, for Music Fans. Altec Lansing partnered with ACS Custom for availing the custom fitted in-ear monitors for retail consumers as well as audio professionals.

When a person purchases any of the three models by ACS Custom Monitor set, they they will be referred to an Audiologist who will then create a custom mould of the customer’s ears. Together, Altec Lansing and ACS Custom have over 300 audiologists who are skilled at making great ear impressions.

“We hand craft every individual Custom Series product in our private labs in the US and the UK for the best possible customer experience. Premium materials, innovative designs and a relentless focus on the details means that the new Altec Lansing by ACS Custom in-ear monitors will provide nearly flawless sound reproduction and an enthralling musical experience for audiophiles and professionals alike,” said Craig Kasper, Audiologist and Managing Director, ACS Custom USA.

While manufacturing, the custom earphones are handcrafted through extremely soft advanced Silicone. The 40 Shore silicone quickly adapts to a user’s body temperature, forming a flexible yet complete seal that ensures comfort for extended wear and isolates noise up to -27db. Furthermore, SteriTouch provides an antimicrobial benefit to the silicon. In terms of sound, the manufacturer claims that the earplugs will be more faithful to the original source in the range of 16Hz-20KHz, counting as a model or two “drivers” (for models A1 and A2) or peaking quality in the A3, with “drivers” separate high, mid and low frequencies.

Price and Availability

The price for triple armature A3 will be $999.95, while that for A2 and A1 will be $749.95 and $499.95, respectively. The products will be available beginning in November. Visit alteclansing.com/custom for more information.
